UN/CEFACT’s Modeling Methodology (UMM) is a UML modeling approach to design the business services that each partner must provide in order to collaborate. It provides the business justification for the services to be implemented in a service-oriented collaboration architecture. UMM focuses on developing a global choreography of inter-organizational business processes and their information exchanges. UMM models are notated in UML syntax and are platform independent models. A UMM business collaboration model comprises three main views: the business domain view (BDV), the business requirements view (BRV), and the business transaction view (BTV). UMM meta model is partitioned into functional levels, ranging from core, minimal functionality to complete functionality, as a set of meta modules including base, foundation, specialization and extension.
