9. Summary description of the project/service
Brief Summary

The Electronic Origin Data Exchange System (EODES) enables the electronic submission of Preferential Certificate of Origin (PCO) and e-Declaration of Origin. EODES shortens transmission times and delivers PCO authenticity, reducing time-to-market for goods through faster customs clearance.

a. Objective(s)

The EODES enables the electronic submission of Preferential Certificate of Origin (PCO) and electronic Declaration of Origin, between China and countries. EODES shortens the transmission lead time and issues PCO authenticity, thus reducing the goods’ time-to-market through faster Customs clearance.

b. Business need for the project (background)

To eliminate the need for hardcopy document to be dispatched overseas, enabling companies to enjoy savings in cost and time.

c. Business process covered*

The transmission and Receipt of Electronic Preferential of Origin to and from China.

d. Overall architecture and functionalities*

Once companies have submitted a PCO online, customs will issue a certificate of origin with risk control, and the company can print out its own certificate of origin.
