Summary
The APEC Cross-border Privacy Enforcement Arrangement (CPEA) creates a framework for regional cooperation in privacy law enforcement. The arrangement serves three main objectives: facilitating information sharing among Privacy Enforcement Authorities in APEC economies, providing mechanisms for effective cross-border cooperation in privacy law enforcement, and encouraging information sharing and cooperation on privacy investigation and enforcement with authorities outside APEC.
Geographical coverage: Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and the United States.
