Summary

The Resolution establishes industry standards for secure electronic cargo documentation. The resolution provides consignment information to industry stakeholders and IATA carriers in accordance with the requirements of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Manual Doc. 8973 and the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 1998/20. 

Specific paperless trade provisions include: 

  • Standardized format for electronic consignment security declarations, 
  • Requirements for digital security information exchange, 
  • Compliance framework with ICAO Security Manual Doc. 8973, 
  • Alignment with EU Regulation 1998/2015, 
  • Protocols for electronic audit trails throughout supply chain, 
  • Standards for digital archiving of security information, 
  • Guidelines for regulatory access to electronic records.
