Summary

The Revised Kyoto Convention elaborates several key governing principles, promoting trade facilitation and effective controls through legal provisions that detail simple yet efficient procedures. These principles include transparency and predictability of Customs actions, standardization and simplification of documentation, simplified procedures for authorized persons, maximum use of information technology, minimum necessary customs control, risk management and audit-based controls, coordinated interventions with other border agencies, and partnership with trade.
