Summary
The UN/CEFACT Technical Note, building upon Recommendation n°33 (ECE/TRADE/352), provides key elements for an official definition of Single Window and proposes alternative vocabulary for mechanisms that are similar in nature or function but do not satisfy all Single Window criteria. It aims to create a controlled vocabulary to clearly define the scope and nature of various trade facilitation mechanisms, addressing confusion among stakeholders about what constitutes a true Single Window system.
