China - Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA)
The China–Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) entered into force on 20 December 2015. The agreement contains 17 chapters and four annexes. Two memoranda of understanding and a side letter on traditional Chinese medicine were also concluded as part of the overall ChAFTA package but do not form part of the agreement.
The agreement has provisions on the advance electronic submission and processing of information before the physical arrival of goods, the acceptance of electronic copies of supporting documents required for imported goods, and on electronic signatures and authentication.
