Brief Summary

The project aims at simplifying procedures and processes of international trade in the following Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The project aims at simplifying procedures and processes of international trade in the following Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

b. Business need for the project (background)

The regional project TFCA implemented by GIZ has identified several problems hindering the development of the export-import potential of the countries of the region. Most of the countries of Central Asia are in a trade deficit. The lack of competitiveness is due to high trade costs resulting from a landlocked location, limited transport links and complex trade and transit procedures.

It will contribute to faster and more straightforward procedures along regional trade routes and promote dialogue on the cross-border harmonization of trade processes in the region. The project trains and advises transport and logistics companies in the Central Asian countries to organize their activities more efficiently and facilitate the movement of goods.
